Contra Mestra Fominha

Contra Mestra Fominha has been practicing Capoeira for twenty three years. She was the first woman in her academy to become a teacher. She has trained Capoeira in Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Martinique, San Martin, Chicago, Miami, Texas, and throughout New England.  She uplifts students of all backgrounds and capabilities to believe in themselves and their strengths.  Fominha is also a community activist and connects Capoeira’s history of resistance to the struggle for equality in modern times.
